A nationally recognized Western landscape impressionist, Troy Collins creates paintings with brilliant color, texture and insight from his studio nestled in the middle of the Bitterroot Mountain Range. His paintings have graced the halls of the California State Capitol, the Pentagon and the U.S. Capitol, and are included in many corporate and private collections throughout the United States, Europe and around the world.
“I have been spending a lot of my time recently painting with my daughters in my studio,” says Collins. “It’s been really good for me because, as I have been explaining some foundations of painting to them, I have been reminded of many elements that have become instinctual for me when I paint. It has been refreshing, and I feel like that new, invigorating spark is evident in the collection of work I am creating right now...I am also discovering a new love for painting wildlife and figurative pieces using my own stylistic approach. It has been invigorating to branch out and create some really colorful and thickly textured paintings for my collectors.”
Collins’ work has been featured in more than 50 magazines and four books, and is considered one of the top 25 quick finish artists in the West. Collins is a proud member of the C.M. Russell Museum’s Russell Skull Society of Artists. His upcoming shows include Montana Masters in Great Falls, Montana, from March 18 to 20, Mountain Trails Gallery’s July 4 weekend show in Jackson, Wyoming, and a show at Dick Idol Signature Gallery in Whitefish, Montana, in mid-July. —
