Troy Collins often spends time in nature searching for moments of inspiration, and this can lead to very meaningful works of art. His paintings Chasing Your Heart, The Miracle of a Moment and The Moments that Matter were derived from photographs he took with his wife, Gina, while they were hiking through Grand Teton National Park a couple of years ago.
“The day was beautiful—bright blue skies and the aspen magically changing colors throughout the park. We absolutely love Jackson and all of the beauty it has to offer around each and every corner,” Collins says. “It was, in hindsight, one of the last days we would spend together before Gina received her breast cancer diagnosis.”
These three pieces, Collins says, “have a special meaning to me because they represent the light of hope and courage it took both of us to walk through months of fear and worry and to come out on the other side of this frightening disease in remission and joy. Our love definitely deepened throughout this experience as well as the intensity of color and light represented in each of these pieces. Personally, I feel that I am painting my best work lately...the meaning behind my work has deepened and so hopefully the feelings they portray to my collectors have deepened, as well.” —
