Jeff Merrill is an artist in all aspects. He visualizes a painting in nearly everything he observes. Although he has a degree in commercial art, Merrill is mostly self-taught. He developed many of his skills by studying various painters, from realists to impressionists. His favorite subject matter is figurative, but Merrill also has a deep love for wildlife and scapes—whether land, sea or city. In addition to his love of painting, Merrill is a singer and musician. Much of his artwork is influenced from his music, as well as his observation of people and places around him.

Merrill has amassed collectors worldwide. He does several commissioned pieces each year, in various subject areas. He has the uncanny ability to take an inspiration, visualize its execution and the final product in his mind. He had the honor of meeting Tommy Chong, who then signed Merrill’s painting of him. —
