Troy Collins has been hard at work in his studio for the past year and he shows no signs of slowing down in the future. “It has been a crazy, busy last couple of years for me. I have been painting in the studio from early in the morning until late at night which is great and fulfilling. I am just hoping my collectors will be patient while I’m intensely trying to complete commissions and keep my galleries happy,” says Collins. He adds, “I was really worried when the pandemic began that the art world would be affected. But it seems that many artists, including myself, have been blessed to remain busy throughout the shutdowns.”
Collins, a nationally renowned Western landscape impressionist, creates most of his work out of his studio and home in the beautiful Bitterroot Mountains. “I’m blessed to live in a location where I could walk outside and find solace and beauty all around me during the pandemic,” he says. “I feel like art, in all its shapes and forms, was where so many people turned to find refuge from the chaos that was occurring in the outside world. With so many people working from home and spending more time than usual in just one location, it seems reasonable that art was an important investment they made to bring some light and healing into their environments. Art offered that respite and restoration, and I know that I feel blessed to have been able bring just a small bit of that light and peace into my collectors’ lives.” —
