It has been a busy few months for Troy Collins, and he has been hard at work in his studio, as well as behind the scenes of Montana’s art happenings. In April of this year, Collins was appointed by Governor Greg Gianforte to the Montana Arts Council, an honor he has not overlooked.
“I believe in the transformative power of art in both education and in everyday life,” says Collins. “I have been fortunate and blessed to spend my days surrounded by beauty and the creative process. It is my pleasure to help provide that experience to all Montana residents and to help foster and promote art throughout this beautiful state.”Collins was also honored to learn that he was named the featured artist for the Jackson Hole Chamber of Commerce’s Jackson Hole Fall Arts Festival. The festival, which is held every September in Jackson, Wyoming, consists of numerous design and art events that promote and celebrate this top art destination. The festivities culminate with a QuickDraw in the Town Square where Collins’ featured work will be auctioned off to the highest bidder. “Being named the featured artist for this event is one of the greatest honors I have ever received,” Collins adds. “The Jackson art community is incredible; it is full of great artists, galleries and collectors. I feel very privileged and humbled to be named the featured artist in this standout art market.”
Collins, a Russell Skull Society artist, will also host a suite displaying his work during the C.M. Russell Museum’s The Russell Sale and Auction which will be in Great Falls, Montana, August 18 to 21. His newest works will also hang throughout the summer at gallery locations throughout the western United States. —Want to See More?
