Natalia Andreeva’s artistic journey originated in the captivating yet harsh landscapes of Siberia, specifically in her Russian hometown of Novosibirsk. “These lands have cultivated a deep connection between my heart and the world of painting,” says the artist. “What drives me to paint is the delicate sensitivity I’ve developed for both watercolors and traditional oils.”
In each artwork, Andreeva is drawn to the balance of form and composition. She considers her style “reminiscent of realism, while my passion ignites with the daring use of color and simulated light, reflecting my love for modern techniques.” This combination of tradition and innovation allows Andreeva to explore a wide spectrum of creative ideas.
Her favorite subjects are landscapes created in plein air, vibrant still life compositions, and figures and portraits that explore the human condition. “My journey reflects unwavering passion, dedication and limitless creativity,” she shares. “As I often say, ‘Through my art, I hope to share the emotions and beauty I find in the world around me.’”
Andreeva holds signature membership status in the American Impressionist Society and serves as the president of the Tallahassee Watercolor Society. She is currently featured in an exhibition at River’s Edge Gallery in Apalachicola, Florida, through November 30. Find a comprehensive list of Andreeva’s 2024 exhibitions on the artist’s website. —
