Collector’s Focus: Pastels

In the June 2025 issue, American Art Collector returns with its Collector’s Focus: Pastels, a special feature dedicated solely to this versatile and accessible medium. Pastels are widely popular among artists because of their rich pigmentation and portabilitiy—all you need is a piece of paper and you are ready to start creating. Whether working with soft pastels or hard, oil or chalk-based, pastels allow for quick work, making them a favored medium for painting in plein as well as in-studio. This feature will run in conjunction with the Pastel Society of New Mexico’s Signature Member Show.
