Cecilia Anastos
Oil and Acrylic on Canvas
18 x 24 inches (L x W)
In this fusion of impressionism and surrealism, I've meshed dreamlike whimsy with textured reality! With broad acrylic and oil strokes, I captured my silhouette dissolving into the iconic backdrop of a beloved locale, embodying the transient joy and ephemeral nature of life's moments. The locale is the famous Brasserie de l'Isle Saint Louis, located at 55 Quai de Bourbon in Paris. The food and atmosphere are amazing. This painting pulsates with vibrancy and is sure to infuse your space with a sense of escape and the delightful unpredictability of imagination.

St. George is a city in southwestern Utah. Nearby Snow Canyon State Park offers trails, dunes and red sandstone cliffs. The St. George Art Museum houses historical photos and work by regional artists. I was captivated by nature's perfect arrangement of colors: the blue sky complimenting the orange ground. Through the hole on this mountain, I was contemplating the horizon and it felt there was an infinite world of possibilities in front of me.

Talking with my sisters about my head full of dreams

Talking with my sisters about my head full of dreams

Cecilia Anastos
Oil on Canvas
36 x 36 inches (L x W)
In this self-portrait created with oil painting, I wove a dreamscape of vibrant, luminous spheres, each cradling a pair of legs. These legs belong to my sisters Janice, Vivi, Tere and Adri. They represent the kaleidoscope of thoughts and aspirations I share in sisterly bonds. I am telling them about my head full of dreams. My strokes bring to life the surreal dance of dreams and reality, inviting contemplation and igniting the imagination with rich texture and depth. The artwork pulsates with the sincerity of heartfelt dialogue, and will infuse any space with the warmth of shared dreams and intimate connections.

Valley in the Dart River - New Zealand

Valley in the Dart River - New Zealand

Cecilia Anastos
Oil on Canvas
18 x 18 inches (L x W)
Framed with black wood frame. With the frame, the size is 20 x 20 x 1 In this oil painting, I've amalgamated abstract and impressionistic strokes to evoke the untamed beauty of a serene landscape. My passion is channeled through sweeping violet mountains and a fiery red peak, symbolizing nature's contrasting forces. Golden-hued flora stands vibrant against the earth, a testament to life's resilience. Embracing this artwork in your home invites a burst of inspiration and a perpetual spring of contemplation and tranquility. This is the sandy ground toward the Dart River (officially Te Awa Whakatipu from Māori: Te Awa Whakatipu) which flows through rugged forested country in the southwestern South Island of New Zealand. I am a horseback rider. I imagine I am slowly walking my horse here and I feel the silence of the landscape, the breathe of my horse, and the sound of his hooves on the soft ground. We are both thirsty, and patiently heading toward the river to quench our thirst, and then continue our journey.

Winter at World's End - Hingham, MA

Winter at World's End - Hingham, MA

Cecilia Anastos
Oil on canvas
18 x 24 inches (L x W)
World's End is a 251-acre park and conservation area located on a peninsula in Hingham, Massachusetts. The peninsula is bordered by the Weir River to the North and East and Hingham Harbor to the West. In my artwork, I channel the serene yet potent silence of winter. Through the muted monochromatic palette and textured brushstrokes, I've captured nature's quiet strength. The trees stand resolute amid the frosty landscape, a testament to endurance. This painting is more than a scene; it's an immersion into the soul of a hushed, frost-bound world. It will bring a peaceful, contemplative energy to any space it graces. It is one of my favorite places on Earth.
